Smoke i have Photographed

Back to homepage

Today, after several days of smoke from trash fires, i purchased a double bib Tyvek hood and some aerosol/fume respirator cartridges. I have fans to run off batteries to blow thru the cartridges into the hood, to have clean air to breathe and no smoke in my hair or upper shirt area.

Smoke here is as common as air. It's used here as scent marking, to say "this is my place, i want you to think i am here", or as a means to dispose of anything unwanted. They don't pass things on to those who might pay for the item, they'd rather burn it, it gives them a sense of power. It burns my nose, and makes clothes hung out to dry become too smelly to wear. I've repeatedly washed the same clothes multiple times, trying to catch a day to dry when there's less smoke. I gave up a few months ago. I now buy tshirts on sale, wear them a few weeks, then toss them aside. I plan to save them and wash on the boat.
